This is Deepika Padukone’s first Tamil film. She is pairing with Rajni who is donning youthful role. Rajni is donning three roles in this film Raana after his super hit film Moondru Mugam. Deepika Padukone while speaking about this said," Rajni is the greatest actor in India.

Murali Manohar is one of the producers of Raana. The shooting of Raana is to commence in April. Sonu Sood who rocked the in the Hindi film Dabangg is donning the villain role. Many more Hindi actors are also acting in this film.
